This rum was distilled and aged in Venezuela under the label of Distribuidora Sofa company. The molasses is fermented with a species of yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae type and distilled mostly in multi-column apparatus in which they produce a wide range of distillates, from light to heavy. For ageing, they predominantly use ex-bourbon barrels made from American white oak.

We imported the rum into Czech Republic and stored it into ex-bourbon oak casks, and then in barrels, where previously rested Spanish sherry Pedro Ximénez. 

Thanks to the influence of sherry, the elegant character of Venezuelan rum gained a charming aroma from this unique wine. Leaving its fingerprints of sophisticated refinement, it enriched the rum with sweet, warming tones that reflect the craftsmanship and long-standing tradition of Spanish wine masters.
